Finals week at the University of Florida is right around the corner and can be very overwhelming. With lots of exams, papers, and projects, trying to stay on top of everything is hard. Here are a few simple habits that can make this process a whole lot easier:
1. Make a plan before the week starts
Create a physical calendar or list for exam times and assignment deadlines. When you can see everything in one place, finals week feels a lot less chaotic.
2. Pick your study spots early
Wherever you like to study, go early. This is a time of the year when everyone is cramming, and trust me, it will be impossible to find a seat. The less time you waste looking a spot, the better.
3. Make your life as easy as possible
During finals, every minute matters. When you have to wait for the bus, find parking, or walk, you are losing precious time. For many UF students, having a scooter makes finals week easier by helping them get where they need to go faster.
4. Pack for long days
Bring the basics with you before you leave for campus, so you don’t have to go home. Pack a charger, water, and snacks. Basically, anything you know you will need can save you from extra trips and added stress later.
5. Take care of yourself
Most of all, sleep, eat healthy, drink water, and take breaks. This matters more than most students think. You will feel and perform better if you do not burn yourself out.
Finals week is always busy, but hopefully these tips and tricks will make it a bit more manageable.
