Get to know Denise…
How did you get suckered into working at NS4L?
Collin came to speak at my Florida Business Leadership Society (FBLS) club meeting, and since then I’ve been captivated by the culture here. After he spoke there, I actually bought a scooter from here which then put me on the NS4L listserv, so when Collin sent out an email that there were job and internship openings, I knew I just had to work here!
Why are you vital to the success of NS4L?
I gots lots of gr8 marketing ideas and truly care for the betterment of the company. I just want us to keep doing better and improving that UCE!
What song would you say describes you?
Primadonna Girl by Marina and the Diamonds.
What is your favorite NS4L core value?
I really like core value #1 which is to Create and Recreate the UCE (Ultimate Customer Experience). Before I started working here and I was a customer, that was my absolute favorite part of the company. It felt like an actual family here and I really enjoyed how much I felt like they cared about me. Customers are the most critical part to every business and I really think it’s so important to make them and their needs the #1 priority!
How old were you when you found out Santa wasn’t real?
I think I was about 7 or 8 and I found out because I got a violin from Santa for Christmas, but a few months later I found the receipt for the violin stuffed in my dad’s wallet.
What’s the craziest thing you have done in the name of love?
I drove 1,000 miles from South Florida to New Jersey (in the 100 degree weather, mind you, because our AC broke down in Jacksonville), to see my boyfriend, who lives in NJ, for 2 weeks!!
If you had a warning label, what would yours say?
WARNING: PERSONALITY MAY BE LOUDER AND MORE OBNOXIOUS THAN IT INITIALLY APPEARS!
What did you want to be when you were small?
I actually really wanted to be a cashier for some reason… I thought they looked so cool pressing the buttons on the cash register and wished I could do that. That or be a famous singer.
What’s the most daring thing you have ever done?
I rode a scooter… without a helmet! :O #neveragain #scootersafety
If you had to choose to live without one of your five senses, which would you give up?
Smell!! Gainesville lowkey always smells funky, so I could do without that– and also, it’s probably the sense I use the least.
What would you do if you were the President of your own country?
I would probably make laws to have a 4 day work week with a 3 day weekend, and make wearing crocs and giving more than 4 hours of homework illegal.
