Alvin joined our team in 2014 and I love this guy.  His personality is infectious and he is so easy to get along with.  Alvin was one of the more ‘normal’ hires (as in he replied to an ad, came in for an interview, and we ended up hiring him!).  Alvin is very detail-oriented (which I really like because I am too!) and when it is time to relax and celebrate, he is the first to join in and have a great time!  
 
Get to know Alvin…

In your words, what do you do here?

I’m a technician.  I do walk-in work, which means scooters who have their owners waiting in the showroom — work that takes 30 minutes or so.  I’m also tasked to do scooter assembly, putting scooters together when they come in a box from the warehouse, then when they are sold I do scooter Prep, preparing it with a battery, gas, and check everything else and make sure that all is good and proper.  My routine is clock in at 9 then get all scooters out of the back of house (of course with the help of other team members) and get it organized outside, in front and on the side of the building, then I start my wrenching. By 5:30 we get all scooters inside for the night.

I also do anything and everything I’m asked of by my Boss, immediate superior and coworkers, as long as its moral and legal, and I’m capable of doing.

How did you get suckered into working here?

I saw an ad and I answered it, then I was asked to take a survey, which got me more interested.  The next thing I know I was told to come in for interview, then just a couple hours after that I was asked to come try working, now I’m still here so I guess that means I got hired, which is GREAT, AWESOME.

How would you describe NS4L’s culture?

I don’t know what to say to describe it. Maybe one word will do, SPECIAL.

And I so much LOVE it here, being here.

What is your favorite NS4L memory?

One “Beer Cart Friday,” I think it was my first, we were celebrating something about April, which is the month I landed here in the US of A., so April is sort of special for me.  I remember that night well. I did a special dance in the office, never to be done again, unless Bud will convince me.

What is your favorite NS4L core value?

I have a few, I always have more than a few when it comes to favorites.

How many scooters would you guesstimate that NS4L has serviced in the past year?

I would guess a little more than half a million scooters. I mean they were plenty.

If you could be a ninja turtle, which would you be?

I don’t remember all their names and I don’t remember their characters either so any will do.  But I would rather be HELLBOY!

If you were a kitchen utensil, what would you be?

I would be an abrasive cleaning sponge soaked with high strength detergent. I would get everything shiny.
